Positivity gets a bad wrap

Choosing to live a positive life. Others will say “that’s not realistic” or “you must live in an alternate reality.” I myself have thought this. Whenever I was going through something tough, it felt like I was falling apart. I couldn’t relate to someone who seemed to have it all figured out. It would seem they didn’t have a care in the world with all of that positivity. How was that possible?

I get it…….but I also don’t. I was that way at one point or another, and now I see things from a whole new perspective. After diving deeper into this subject this year, I have learned a few things…

A positive attitude puts you in a world where: anything is possible, following a dream is a tangible thing, and achieving a goal is a reality. Once you have tested this out for yourself, you will realize there is no going back.

THIS CAN BE LIFE CHANGING! You will finally realize what a HUGE difference positivity can make. Not just for yourself, but for those around you.

What you think about, you bring about

You can actually look back at your life so far and see what brought you to the exact point where you are now. It happened through your thoughts. Negative thoughts brought on more negative things, just as more positive thoughts brought on more positive things. Stop and think about that for a second! That is a hard pill to swallow, but a very important one nonetheless.

There are three words I want you to get to know: SUBCONSCIOUS, MINDSET, and PARADIGM. We all have them, and we all can change them if we don’t like the outcome we’ve been getting.

Not everyone knows just how to do this. It’s actually quite simple. It’s a choice. One single decision that can lead to you changing your life for the better.

Let’s define these terms:


MINDSET : the established set of attitudes held by someone.
PARADIGM : a typical example or pattern of something. A model or standard.
SUBCONSCIOUS : concerning the part of the mind of which one is not fully aware but which influences one’s actions and feelings.


You can see how they are related. The pattern that leads to how you feel about things is important. It can be the difference between losing your mind in traffic, or letting the person who just cut you off not even phase you.

LET IT GO! It’s something I’m working on everyday. Because there will always be things that come up to throw you off course. Let this be the test for you. You can choose to be positive.

If we all have patterns in our subconscious mind (the part of the mind where we get creativity, intuition and inspiration) that make us lose control whenever we are upset, we have let the negative thoughts dictate how we act. That’s the paradigm at work.

On the opposing side, we can make a choice to shut down the negative voice and only choose to let the positive in. That’s how we can control the outcome and shift the paradigm. You have to change what you’ve been doing. Keep a positive mindset.

You have a choice

You may wonder how to do this. First thing to know is it isn’t easy, but it is well worth it! To have a positive mindset, you must practice. It takes repetition. Replace every negative thought you have with a positive one. No matter how ridiculous it seems or how off it makes you feel.

The reason you feel this is that “you aren’t seeing the world as it is, you are seeing the world as you are.” That quote by Best-Selling Author and Entrepreneur Ed Mylett is so good! Check out his video HERE on this topic. We are basically living a lie. It doesn’t seem like a lie, it just feels like us. That’s becasue we were set in our ways for years.

The moment we step back and change our view, we begin to see all those negative thoughts weren’t true. There is love, prosperity and good things for everyone. It’s inside of us all. We just need to look through different lenses to see it.

If our bodies are made up of an infinite amount of energy, and the energy can only be expressed positively or negatively through our bodies…..why would we ever make the choice to bring about more negative things?

The good thing is YOU CAN CHANGE IT! No matter what has happened or what you’ve been through. You need to realize this! I am so passionate about it because I have seen it at work in my own life.

I challenge you to try and be positive in all things you do for just one week! Take inventory of all the negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones. Make it something you repeat and practice every day. Watch how just one short week can begin to change your life for the better!
